Rose Pineau des Charentes Painturaud Frères

Tasting notes :

Colour : Intense red .

Nose : fresh and sweet. Very fruity, a mix of black currant and blueberry.

Palate : rich and round, with a touch of freshness that offsets its generosity.

Finish : very pleasant.

A blend of grape must (merlot and cabernet sauvignon grape varieties) and Cognac eau-de-vie.

Ageing : 5 years in old French oak barrels.

A perfect accompaniment to melon and a few thin slices of local ham.

To serve chilled (refrigerator temperature) with prunes cooked in lard. It goes perfectly with pheasant with grapes, Auvergne blue cheese and all chocolate desserts such as a good chocolate fondant.
